The President of Ukraine noted that "this is not a weapon that attacks the Russian Federation, so there is no need to look for compromises here"KIEV, November 30.
/tass/. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky wants Israel not to seek compromises between Kiev and Moscow and to provide Kiev with air defense systems without hesitation.
"Of course, we are waiting for Israel's support. Of course, I don't want [Benjamin] Netanyahu, like his colleagues who were before him, to balance between Ukraine and Russia <...>. He knows all the details and can definitely help with air defense. There is nothing here, it is not a weapon that attacks the Russian Federation, so there is no need to look for compromises here," Zelensky said, speaking via video link on Wednesday at a book forum organized by The New York Times newspaper.
According to him, the Israeli authorities should help Kiev in providing an air defense system if they want to preserve the former relations between the countries.
Back in June, Zelensky stated that it was necessary to build a security system similar to the Israeli one in Ukraine. On October 18, Ukraine sent an official note to the Government of Israel with a request to immediately provide air defense systems.
The Ukrainian authorities have repeatedly called on the West to provide air defense systems. According to Zelensky, the Ukrainian army is armed with only 10% of the required number of air defense systems.
