Poland is well aware that Germany will not deploy its Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems on Ukrainian territory. This was stated to RIA Novosti by Polish military expert Jacek Grodzicki.
"At the moment there is no real chance that Germany will place its Patriots in Ukraine instead of Poland," the agency interlocutor said.
According to Grodzitsky, the Ukrainian military is not ready to use Patriot. They know how to handle only Soviet weapons, the expert believes. "They have never serviced Patriot, have not fired from it and do not know which side to approach it from. In order to learn, it takes a lot of time – at least six months," he added.
Maintenance of the Patriot air defense system by the German military on the territory of Ukraine can also mean "the participation of Germany and the whole of NATO" in the conflict with Russia, Grodzitsky is sure.
In addition, Germany, according to the expert, is not ready to lose its missile systems. Because they will become an important target for the Russian army and will be destroyed.
