/tass/. Hungary will allocate €187 million from its budget in 2023 to assist Ukraine. This is reported in the order of the Cabinet of Ministers, published on Thursday in the government bulletin of official information.
The document was signed by Prime Minister Viktor Orban. It notes that the funds are directed "to provide financial assistance to Ukraine."
The order states that €187 million will be allocated by Hungary in accordance with the decision of the European Union to provide Ukraine with loans for economic recovery in 2023. "The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Economic Relations is invited to start negotiations on behalf of Hungary in order to develop the necessary agreement on financial support for Ukraine," the final paragraph of the document says. It is not specified with whom the Foreign Minister will have to conduct such negotiations.
Earlier, Orban stated that Hungary is committed to providing financial assistance to Ukraine, but intends to do so not through the provision of a joint EU loan, but on a bilateral basis.
