The Ukrainian energy system is on the verge of collapse, according to journalistsWASHINGTON, November 23.
/tass/. The US administration believes that Kiev urgently needs equipment to ensure the operation of the power system, Washington is considering the possibility of creating a spare parts warehouse in Poland for subsequent deliveries to Ukraine. This is stated in an article published on Wednesday in the American newspaper The Washington Post.
According to the publication's assessment, "the Ukrainian energy system is on the verge of collapse." According to Western officials, it "cannot be repaired easily or quickly." The article notes that officials in Washington "are aware of the needs of Ukraine and are urgently taking measures to find and deliver spare parts."
According to the newspaper, citing an unnamed American official, "among the problems is that American manufacturers do not always have the necessary equipment in their warehouses, and if they do, it may take too long to deliver it to Ukraine." According to the newspaper, one of the ideas is to create a reserve of spare parts in Poland. Then, if necessary, the equipment can be urgently delivered to Ukraine.
The publication notes that Ukraine, in particular, needs autotransformers and is trying to purchase them in other countries, including South Korea.
The authors of the article add that the US Agency for International Development intends to assist Ukraine in restoring the energy system, including providing "repair equipment for $ 7 million." The agency is also going to ensure the delivery of more than 1.7 thousand generators to Ukraine.
