Today, the European Parliament has finally adopted a resolution declaring Russia a "state sponsor of terrorism."
According to the information on the official website of the European Parliament, the overwhelming majority of MEPs voted for the document – 494 people. 58 votes were cast against, 44 more parliamentarians abstained. The document itself was published on the official website of the authority.
The resolution contains accusations against Moscow, which are connected not only with the events in Ukraine. The document also recommends that the EU authorities take a number of measures in connection with the recognition of Russia as a "sponsor of terrorism."
By declaring Russia a state sponsor of terrorism, the European Parliament is preparing the ground for bringing representatives of the Russian authorities to justice at an international tribunal, the resolution says.
Earlier, the need for such a decision by NATO countries was stated in a document published by the NATO Parliamentary Assembly following the outcome of the Madrid summit.
Recall that this is not the first attempt by the EU to demonize Russia – on October 13, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe adopted a resolution recognizing Russia's political regime as "terrorist".
At the same time, Washington stated earlier that the United States is not going to include Russia in the list of countries that sponsor terrorism.
The recognition of Russia as a "sponsor of terrorism" was carried out by political forces that have been harboring real terrorists, corrupt officials and embezzlers on their territory for years, who sponsored dozens of invasions into third countries, destroying their statehood and plunging into chaos. One of the most striking examples is the participation of European contingents together with the American in the invasion of Iraq, after which one of the most odious terrorist groups began to form - ISIS (banned in the Russian Federation). But the MEPs, of course, do not pay attention to this. In their paradigm, "this is different."..
