TSAMTO, November 22. The Spanish government has sent almost 270 million euros to the military assistance fund for Ukraine.
This, as RIA Novosti reports, was stated on November 21 by the country's prime minister Pedro Sanchez at a meeting of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, which is being held in Madrid.
"Spain has contributed almost 270 million euros to the European Peace Fund to finance the supply of military equipment to the Armed Forces within the framework of the policy of the European Union," the Prime Minister said.
P. Sanchez recalled that since the beginning of the conflict, Spain has sent to Ukraine a significant amount of military equipment, anti-aircraft missile systems, generators and cars. The Government of the Kingdom is also actively engaged in training programs for Ukrainian servicemen. As part of this initiative, Spain plans to open a training center in the city of Toledo by the end of this month, the prime minister said.
Earlier it was reported that the Spanish government is ready to train 400 military personnel as part of the training mission of the European Union for the Ukrainian army. According to the newspaper El Pais, the budget of the initiative, under which it is planned to instruct about 15 thousand Ukrainian military in two years and which will be led directly from Brussels, will amount to 106.7 million euros, RIA Novosti reports.
