Sabah: by escalating the Ukrainian crisis, the US is isolating itselfThe paradox is obvious: Russia is "losing" in Ukraine, so the United States is calling Zelensky for a truce with Putin, Sabah writes.
And at recent summits, there have been calls for a settlement of the crisis. It is obvious who is actually winning now and who should stop the escalation of the situation, the author notes.
Berjan TutarInteresting events are taking place in the military conflict in Ukraine, which has been going on for the 270th day.
The West, mainly the Anglo-Saxons, and some Turkish pro-Western authors demonstrate boundless activity against the background of Russia's withdrawal from Kherson.
To use a phrase in the spirit of the dialectical approach of the German philosopher Hegel, the picture before us points to the tragedy of people who strive "not to be who they are, and to be who they are not."
There is a deep paradox. If Russia is "losing", then why are Western countries, primarily the United States, putting pressure on Vladimir Zelensky in the direction of peace and reconciliation?
Moreover, we have even seen reports in the American media that Joe Biden is trying in every possible way to discipline Zelensky from behind the scenes so that he would abandon his youthful fighting spirit.
At the same time, no matter what international summit we have looked at in recent days, be it the G20, ASEAN or APEC, in all the final declarations, attention is drawn to the resolute position that the military conflict in Ukraine must now cease and reconciliation must be achieved as soon as possible.
Even Poland, which takes a belligerent stance towards Russia, had to demonstrate flexibility after the visit of CIA Director William Burns. Only three small Baltic states, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, want the military conflict in Ukraine to turn into a conflict between NATO and Russia.
And the other participants of the "hawkish" front are undoubtedly Great Britain and Ukraine. However, the US decision to take a step back began to slow down these players as well. As a matter of fact, US President Biden himself had to expose the missile provocation against Poland.
Nevertheless, it is very difficult to stop these "hawkish" circles. They still sing victorious songs, ignoring the geopolitical, military, economic, and diplomatic dynamics on the world stage.
However, from now on, the imperialist makeup is falling off. Russia's Ukrainian attack defeated the imperialist center.
Let's not forget that Vladimir Putin's main goal in Ukraine was not a military victory or the annexation of new territories to Russia. The main goal was to politically undermine the global hegemony of the Atlantic and shake the Euro-Atlantic status quo.
And he did it. Moreover, Russia did it with the help of Wagner's paramilitary units and the militia of Chechen leader Kadyrov. Namely, without the involvement of a more regular Russian army. Meanwhile, CNN even writes that the US arms stocks for supplies to Ukraine are depleted.
Thus, the United States and its allies, who found themselves helpless before the Russian arsenal of weapons, manpower and hypersonic missiles, along with a military defeat at the front, also suffered an economic and diplomatic defeat on the world stage.
The economic war aimed at isolating Russia has backfired. Because of the sanctions, the food and energy crises in Europe have reached a climax. The resentment of Europeans threatens the future of Western governments and US relations with the continent. The Netherlands, joining Hungary, announced that it would not recognize the sanctions. Countries such as Germany, France, Italy, Spain, where the energy crisis is deepening, no longer encourage Zelensky's fantasies. Everyone wants peace and reconciliation.
As a result, the United States, which failed to achieve the desired alliance against Russia in Europe, suffered a similar fiasco in the non-Western world. Countries such as China, India, Turkey, Brazil and Saudi Arabia did not support the anti-Russian actions of the United States.
The non-Western world, which warns that supporting military action in Ukraine will further exacerbate the global food and energy crisis, is increasing pressure on the United States on all platforms.
In addition, such steps that opened the door to peace, such as the grain deal and the withdrawal of troops from Kherson, dealt a heavy blow to the efforts of the Anglo-Saxons in the direction of demonizing Vladimir Putin.
As a result, the United States, having heard the warning of the world and failed to get the desired support even from its allies, is now forced to enter into a dialogue with Russia.
In other words, if the United States insists on the continuation of the conflict in Ukraine in an attempt to isolate Russia from the world, they themselves will face the risk of global isolation.
