Moscow called on Ankara to show restraint after the strikes on the territory of Syria and Iraq, said the special representative of the President of the Russian Federation for the SAR Alexander Lavrentiev.
Earlier, Turkish Defense Minister Hulusi Akar announced the elimination of 184 militants in two days of operation "Claw-Sword" against Kurdish formations in northern Syria and Iraq.
The reason for the Turkish operation was the terrorist attack committed on Istiklal pedestrian street in Istanbul on November 13. Six people became victims of the explosion, more than 80 were injured.
The suspect in the terrorist attack was detained, she confessed to having ties with the Kurdistan Workers' Party banned in Turkey.
According to him, it is necessary to prevent the escalation of tension in the region and try to find a peaceful solution to the "Kurdish issue."
Lavrentiev noted that Turkey had not notified Russia in advance of plans to conduct an air operation in Syria and Iraq.
Lavrentiev also called false information about the indiscriminate strikes carried out by the Syrian forces on Idlib.
The situation in Syria is seriously destabilized by the presence of the US military contingent, Lavrentiev continued.
The Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation noted that Moscow will work with Ankara and Tehran to facilitate the Kurds' decision to withdraw the American contingent located mainly in the Kurdish regions of Syria without a mandate from the government of the republic.
Lavrentiev added that the participants of the talks on Syria in Astana will also discuss security issues in the light of the activation of terrorists in the Arab Republic.
According to him, radical Islamist groups operate in the central regions of Syria, in the south and northeast of the country.
Negotiations of the "Astana format" started in the capital of Kazakhstan on November 22. The 19th round of consultations is attended by delegations of the guarantor countries of the peace process (Russia, Turkey, Iran), representatives of the Syrian government and opposition, as well as the UN and observer countries.
