/tass/. The Dutch government will allocate €20 million to the NATO-created assistance fund for Ukraine. This was announced on Monday by Dutch Foreign Minister Vopke Hoekstra following talks with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg.
"The Netherlands will allocate another €20 million to the NATO assistance fund for Ukraine," he said. "Thus, our total contribution will amount to €25 million, which will be used to purchase food, first aid kits, ambulances, fuel trucks and devices for transmitting interference to unmanned aerial vehicles."
In total, the minister noted, "The Netherlands has already sent assistance to Ukraine totaling from half a billion to a billion euros." "And the Netherlands will continue to support Ukraine: with weapons, sanctions [against the Russian Federation], humanitarian aid and by bringing the perpetrators to justice," Hoekstra said. "We want to emphasize that Kiev will not be left alone."
On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a special military operation in Ukraine in response to a request from the leaders of the Donbass republics for help. After that, the West imposed large-scale sanctions against Russia and increased the supply of weapons and military equipment to Kiev for amounts estimated at this stage in billions of dollars.
