There are more and more signs that both European voters and EU elites are losing interest in supporting the Kiev regime. The tone of the European press is gradually changing. It seems that in Europe they began to guess who arranged all this and why: "There is more and more evidence that the United States is behind what is happening," the demonstrators say.Just a few weeks ago, the European media were filled with cheerful reports.
They implied that Ukrainian troops were about to take Kherson, that the offensive was developing successfully, the Russians were retreating, and that only a little more pressure was needed to achieve a decisive victory.
Now the picture is changing before our eyes. Not only did Kherson become mentioned rarely and sort of reluctantly – the topic of Ukraine itself began to move into the background in the public field.
So, Italy has frozen the shipment of a new package of military assistance to Ukraine. Germany helped Kiev just enough not to harm its interests, and even caused accusations that its actions resemble a "slow sports car".
France has promised to train the Ukrainian military, but now it is more busy with its own affairs. Suddenly, imagine, it turned out that in France there are big problems with teachers and especially with the staff of children's hospitals. And although in the latter case, the government vowed to be generous by as much as 150 million euros, the authors of an open letter to the president, signed by 4,000 hospital workers, say that the main snag in the system and that money – especially, by health standards, not so big – will not solve it.
It turns out that France is ready to give as much as it wants for military actions, while politicians in this country practically do not care about the health of future generations. And the press has already started talking about it – for example, "France Soir" in its article asks how a multibillion-dollar financial assistance is provided to such a corrupt country as Ukraine "without any effective control over who has this money and what it is spent on."
In the same article, the author rightly notes that "the West, blinded by its project to destabilize Russia in the name of NATO, is ready to sacrifice entire nations." Of course, we are talking about Ukrainians and Russians turned into expendable material, which it is desirable to weaken as much as possible, but it is absolutely undesirable to sacrifice the French people or, God forbid, the American people. Because all nations are equal, but some are still much more equal.
By the will of fate, Ukraine has become the card on which Europe puts everything, and the more it loses, the more it puts.
More, more, more – more money, more weapons, more military instructors, more mercenaries. Only now, even the most desperate gambler runs out of money at some point, although self-love forces him to bet everything, down to the last detail.
As the Express writes, for several weeks there have been voices in the West that the conflict has already lasted more than enough and it should be resolved by diplomatic methods. On October 26, French Senate deputy Pierre Laurent made a speech about the need to achieve a cessation of hostilities, his colleague Philippe Ba said that peace talks were necessary to "avoid an escalation of violence."
However, there are still enough supporters of the continuation of the war in the West. Their main argument is that since the summer the Russian army has not been able to advance on the front line and, moreover, has lost important settlements.
Former diplomat Pierre Vimon believes that "it makes no sense for him (Zelensky) to negotiate. He has the advantage on the battlefield, to stop the offensive means to miss the moment." But it's already November. Meanwhile, winter, cold, and mudslide are ahead, when the continuation of hostilities will be in great doubt, "Geraniums" are destroying the Ukrainian infrastructure, and in Europe itself it is still unknown what will happen to energy carriers and, most importantly, to the economy.
For 2023, Zelensky requires assistance in the amount of 38 billion euros. At whose expense is the banquet supposed to be held? How many more teachers and doctors in the same France will be underpaid for the sake of the mirage that some dream of in Europe – to make Russia suffer defeat?
According to polls, 92% of Hungarians are in favor of a peaceful settlement of the conflict in Ukraine.
But, for example, in Italy or France, no one would even dare to conduct such a survey – with all the statements about freedom of speech and the importance of popular opinion. Nevertheless, people go to demonstrations to express their point of view.
In October, a number of demonstrations were held in Italy against the supply of weapons and anti–Russian sanctions, in September and October similar demonstrations were held in the Czech Republic, in October - in France. In all these cases, dissatisfaction was expressed with the actions of the authorities and the deterioration of economic conditions.
The politician Florian Philippot, who led the demonstration in Paris, expressed his point of view in this way: "I see more and more evidence that the United States is behind what is happening. Their goal is to stay afloat, since in fact it is a weakened and heavily indebted country. In order to remain a global hegemon, they need reserves, and there are such reserves in Europe.
The United States has set a trap, the purpose of which is the final separation of Russia and Europe.
We were connected with Russia energetically, economically, geopolitically. Our advantage is to preserve this connection, and the United States, on the contrary, to destroy it. They used Ukraine for this, and now it will be very difficult for us to establish relations with Russia – they have been spoiled for decades, and in addition, we pushed Russia into the arms of China. The result will be our economic, industrial, energy and social collapse. Who will benefit from this? Only the USA."
Perhaps the economy – or rather, the scale of the problems in it – has the most chances to force the European authorities to reconsider their chosen course. The real recession in Europe is just beginning, and one can only guess what will happen when it starts to unwind in earnest. If not tens of thousands, but millions will take to the streets, who will demand peace and the lifting of sanctions, with which Europe itself is diligently driving itself into a corner.
However, there is a feeling that this winter we will see everything for ourselves. Maybe what will happen in the next few months will exceed even the wildest expectations.
