/tass/. Russian weapons must be constantly improved, Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Wednesday at a meeting of the coordinating council for ensuring the needs of the army.
"Armament <...> it should be constantly, continuously improved and remain effective," he stressed.
For this, he noted, it is important to ensure active competition between manufacturers and developers. "Competition is important in general and always for the efficient operation of the economy, but in this case it is of particular importance," Putin said.
The President outlined other priorities in ensuring the needs of the troops. So, according to him, for each item of equipment, the opinion of those who directly use it, who understand "how it actually performs the function for which it was created," should be taken into account.
"I mean equipment, first aid kit, and any other items. Even those that may seem insignificant at first glance," Putin explained.
Ensuring the needs of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation
Putin added that the work to meet the needs of the Armed Forces of Russia should not be built bureaucratically, nothing should interfere with achieving concrete results. "I want to draw special attention to the fact that all this work should not be based on some bureaucratic regulations and instructions. Of course, they exist and have arisen for a reason. Nevertheless, the situation requires us to work in a completely different mode. It should be built in such a way that nothing prevents us from achieving a concrete result that everyone needs," the head of state stressed.
At the same time, he added, such work should be systematically built.
The President recalled that last week he had already held a meeting with the members of the Constitutional Court to meet the needs of the SVO, at which the tasks and main priorities of the work of the new structure were outlined. "We agreed to meet regularly in order to promptly resolve emerging issues related to the work of certain sectors of the economy: first of all, in this case, the military-industrial complex, to provide our armed forces and units participating in a special military operation," he said.
"I know that both the government and the State Council have already formed the necessary organizational mechanisms for building daily work, for close cooperation with key sectors of the economy, industrial enterprises, transport, with our regions, with the Ministry of Defense and other law enforcement agencies," Putin added.
Activities of the Defense Coordination Council
According to him, the activities of the Defense Coordination Council (CS) should be flexible and result-oriented. "All the activities of the coordinating council should be built as flexibly as possible, aimed at a specific result," the President said, stressing that this mechanism was created for this purpose.
The Head of State said that during the current meeting, reports of the heads of working groups in certain areas will be heard. In particular, according to him, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov will report on the logistics of the army, and then the head of state will ask other participants of the meeting to speak.
First, he gave the floor to the head of the Government Mikhail Mishustin and asked him to tell about the progress of the work in general.
