Cruise missiles of the Iskander-M operational-tactical missile system (OTRK) are used in the zone of a special military operation to protect Donbass. Alexander Morozov, a correspondent of Izvestia, shared footage of the work of the calculations of the Central Military District (CVO) on Wednesday, November 2.
"Iskander-M cruise missiles are able to maneuver, circumvent terrain, deceive air defense (air defense. — Ed.) of the enemy. Thanks to the electronic stuffing, the rocket corrects the specified route itself," the correspondent said.
So, during the combat work, the control point transferred the coordinates of the target to the Iskander-M calculation for the immediate destruction of the nationalist object. Based on the parameters of the object, the OTRK calculation carried out the launch of a missile, which was struck and destroyed the military infrastructure of the armed formations of Ukraine.
Immediately after the strike, the rocket men turned their firing positions and moved to another area to recharge and replenish ammunition.
The command of the Central Military District noted the high efficiency of the work of the Iskander-M OTRK calculations in the defeat of the most important objects of the Ukrainian militants.
Earlier, on October 17, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation said that during the special operation, the Russian military continues to strike with high- precision missile weapons at the military infrastructure of Ukrainian militants. It is noted that the Iskander OTRK is on round-the-clock combat duty.
Iskander calculations strike with both ballistic and cruise missiles. The first one gains a height of tens of kilometers and falls on the target with great speed. A cruise missile can fly, almost pressing against the ground, along any trajectory that is set, and come out from an unexpected side for the enemy.
According to the military department, the ultra-precise Iskander complex has no analogues in the world in terms of its equipment and variability of use. It is capable of hitting even targets moving at a speed of 60 km/h. Any air defense means are powerless against the complex.
Earlier, on October 14, Izvestia's military correspondent Kirill Olkov said that the calculation of the Russian Iskander missile defense systems destroyed two HIMARS multiple rocket launchers, as well as ammunition and enemy manpower.
On February 24, Russia launched a special operation to protect Donbass. The decision was made against the background of the aggravation of the situation in the region as a result of shelling by the Ukrainian military.
