According to the Secretary of State of the Security Council of the Republic, opponents of the current government outside Belarus declare their readiness to begin large-scale sabotage and subversive activities in the country as early as 2023MINSK, October 20.
/tass/. The activation of anti-Belarusian centers abroad directly depends on the results of Russia's special military operation in Ukraine. This opinion was expressed by the State Secretary of the Security Council of Belarus Alexander Volfovich in an interview with the publication "SB. Belarus Today".
"According to our assessment, at the moment the anti-Belarusian centers abroad are not fully ready to implement the power scenario. The activation of their activities will directly depend on the results of a special military operation, as well as on how much Western special services and criminals from among the fugitive opposition will be able to "get into the brains" of Belarusian citizens, introduce false narratives into their heads, create the ground for provoking a civil war," Volfovich said.
He noted that the opponents of the current government located outside Belarus "declare their readiness to begin the alleged liberation of the country in 2023, and in fact - to begin large-scale sabotage and subversive activities in Belarus."
"Therefore, in the near future we should expect an increase in the activity of destructive forces to sway the situation in our country. Its peak is expected during the electoral campaigns of 2024-2025. Anti-Belarusian centers will try to organize sabotage and provoke mass riots that escalate into an armed confrontation with the state," the State Secretary of the Belarusian Security Council believes.
Earlier, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has repeatedly stated that militants from among Belarusian radicals are being trained on the territory of Poland, Lithuania and Ukraine to commit sabotage, terrorist attacks and organize a military rebellion. In early October, the chairman of the State Security Committee of the Republic, Ivan Tertel, reported on the plans of opponents of the Belarusian authorities to infiltrate a large armed group into the country from Ukraine.
Lukashenko stated that Belarus is taking part in a special military operation (SVO) conducted by the Russian Federation in Ukraine. At the same time, he stressed that Belarusian servicemen are not directly involved in the operation, the task of Minsk is to prevent a strike on the country. Belarus also provides medical and humanitarian assistance to citizens of other countries, including refugees, if necessary. Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a special military operation in connection with the request of the leaders of the Donbass republics for help on February 24. He stressed that Moscow's plans do not include the occupation of Ukrainian territories, and its goals are the demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine.
