As reported by TSAMTO, in June 2022, the US State Department approved the potential supply of AGM-88E2 AARGM anti-radar missiles and related equipment to Australia as part of the Foreign Military Sales program. The total cost of the sale may amount to $94 million.
The AGM-88E AARGM is an aviation supersonic anti-radar missile of medium range. The missile guidance system allows it to hit traditional and promising enemy air defense systems of land and sea-based, to counteract the tactics of stopping radar radiation or switching to autonomous mode. The munition can also be used to defeat non-radiating time-critical targets.
