The Minister of Defense of the Jewish State, Beni Gantz, noted that Israel provided only medical and humanitarian assistanceTEL AVIV, October 19.
/tass/. Israel did not supply weapons to Ukraine, limiting itself only to medical and humanitarian aid. This was stated on Tuesday by the Minister of Defense of the Jewish state, Beni Ganz.
"I want to clarify that we did not sell weapons to Ukraine. We provided them with medical and humanitarian assistance. It should be clear: we did not sell weapons to Ukraine," he said on the radio station Kol Chai.
The head of the Defense Ministry stressed several times that Ukraine had not received any weapons from Israel, and commented on the words of the Israeli Minister for Diaspora Affairs Nahman Shai, who had previously called for the start of such deliveries. "If Nahman Shai claims that we have sold or will sell [weapons to Ukraine], then he is mistaken. I am the Minister of Defense and I am responsible for the export of weapons from Israel," Gantz stressed.
On Sunday, Shai expressed the opinion that Israel should start providing military assistance to Ukraine following the example of the United States and other NATO countries. The next day, Deputy head of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev said that such a step by Israel would be reckless and would destroy its relations with Russia.
