/tass/. The foreign ministers of the EU countries at a meeting in Luxembourg decided on Monday to start a training mission for the Ukrainian military, but Hungary does not consider it a good idea and will not participate in it. This was announced by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Economic Relations of Hungary Peter Siyaroto at a press conference following the meeting, which was broadcast on the Hungarian M1 TV channel.
"Today it was decided that the European Union will conduct a training mission to train soldiers of the Ukrainian army," Szijjarto said, noting that Hungary did not support this decision. "Refraining constructively, Hungary does not consider itself bound by this decision, which is allowed by the legislation of the European Union. We will not participate in this training mission and will not send any instructors for it," the Hungarian Foreign Minister stressed.
According to him, Hungary does not consider the EU training mission for the Ukrainian military to be a good idea. "We don't think it's a good idea or something that doesn't lead to escalation," Szijjarto said. Therefore, the Foreign Minister explained, Hungary "did not give its consent to the creation of this training mission," abstaining from discussing this issue at a meeting in Luxembourg.
