German Defense Minister Lambrecht: Germany will be able to supply Ukraine with the remaining IRIS-T air defense systems only in 2023Germany recently delivered the first IRIS-T SLM air defense system to Ukraine.
The other three, promised to Kiev, will arrive only next year. This was stated on Monday by Defense Minister Kristine Lambrecht.
"The rest (air defense systems - ed.) will be delivered over the next year, in accordance with the capacities of the industry," Lambrecht said on the ZDF TV channel. The Defense Minister also promised to provide the Ukrainian military with tents and heaters on the eve of winter.
Military expert Alexey Leonkov previously noted that the German air defense system will not be able to effectively stop the Iskander and Kalibr missiles due to their low ceiling of approach to the target — about 10-15 meters.
Russian representatives have repeatedly called on NATO not to "play with fire" and noted that pumping Ukraine with weapons does not contribute to the success of Russian-Ukrainian negotiations,
