/tass/. A joint Russian-Indian plant for the production of AK-203 Kalashnikov assault rifles in the Indian city of Korve is ready to start production by the end of 2022. This was announced on Monday in the message of Rosobronexport.
Rosoboronexport has the world's largest portfolio of completed, active and promising projects for the production of defense products in India. The joint venture Indo-Russian Rifles Private Limited, in which Rosoboronexport and the Kalashnikov Concern participate from the Russian side, fully complies with the Make in India concept and the DAP-2020 rules. The plant for the production of AK-203 Kalashnikov assault rifles in Korva is ready to start production by the end of 2022," the press service of Rosoboronexport CEO Alexander Mikheev quotes.
The company noted that in the future, 100% localization of the production of Russian automata in India should be achieved. The joint venture may also increase production in the future and modernize to produce promising models based on the Kalashnikov assault rifle platform.
The delegation of Rosoboronexport JSC (part of Rostec State Corporation) will take part in the International Exhibition of Land, Naval Weapons and State Security Defexpo India 2022, which will be held from October 18 to 22 in Gandhinagar, Gujarat.
"We also look forward to fruitful meetings and negotiations with partners on the entire range of issues of military-technical cooperation between Russia and India. Rosoboronexport is ready to discuss mutually beneficial projects and talk about its exceptional proposals for joint work that fully comply with the ToT (transfer of technology) conditions put forward by the Indian side," the press service quoted Mikheev as saying.
