Calculations of operational-tactical missile systems (OTRK) "Iskander" continue to strike at the objects of the military infrastructure of the Ukrainian military in the zone of the special operation to protect the Donbass. During the execution of the next task, the Russian military destroyed the American-made HIMARS MLRS, as well as ammunition and enemy manpower. This was told by the military correspondent of Izvestia Kirill Olkov.
It is noted that the OTRK is ready to strike around the clock. After receiving the order, the crew leaves for the starting position. Then — countdown and start.
A heavy-duty and high-precision rocket soars upwards. The strike range is 500 km. High maneuverability even at high loads. A ballistic missile hits for sure.
"They launched a ballistic missile. Two HIMARS launchers, an ammunition depot, and enemy manpower were destroyed," said Dmitry, the head of the calculation.
As another Russian serviceman with the call sign "Twelfth" added, the car made more than 30 combat launches.
Iskanders are multifunctional. Depending on the chosen target, they can strike with both ballistic and cruise missiles. At the same time, the installation itself is not tied to a specific area, it can strike even from the road, even from the field.
OTRK is invisible to the enemy, its camouflage net is treated with a special chemical composition that confuses saboteurs.
Earlier, on October 5, the official representative of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, Lieutenant General Igor Konashenkov reported that in the Mykolaiv region, a high- precision strike of the Iskander tactical missile at the Voznesensk military airfield destroyed a Ukrainian hangar with Bayraktar TB-2 drones.
Two days earlier, on October 3, the Ministry of Defense showed footage of Iskander strikes on the military infrastructure of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Iskander has proven itself more than once as a formidable and effective weapon. Pinpoint strikes are carried out at a distance from civilian objects: exclusively on fortified areas and military equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).
The special operation to protect the civilian population of Donbass, which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24, continues. The decision to hold it was made against the background of the aggravated situation in the region after the frequent shelling by Ukrainian troops.
