The United States has been preparing the ground for the Russian-Ukrainian conflict since 2014, the author of an article on the Al Jazeera website writes. All in order to overthrow Putin and put a more "convenient" president, as it was in Ukraine. After all, America cannot allow its hegemony to end.
Politicians and the world's media are following the current escalation of the conflict in Ukraine with great concern, especially after Putin officially announced the accession of four new regions to Russia and said he would use any weapon to protect the state. All this caused heated discussions about the possibility of Moscow using tactical nuclear weapons against Kiev and the consequences of such a step not only for Ukrainians, but also for Europe and the whole world.
Last Thursday in New York, US President Joe Biden said the following: "We haven't faced the threat of Armageddon since the Cuban Missile crisis and Kennedy." The politician was referring to the conflict that brought the United States and the USSR to the brink of nuclear war in 1962.
These words, criticized by many American politicians and the media, contradict the reports of the Biden administration, which ruled out such a step by Putin. Was it a slip of the tongue by a man whose senile memory has already been destroyed by time? Or is it a sign that such a scenario is still likely?
Why the US war?
Whatever the daily reality of the conflict on various fronts in Ukraine, no matter how severe the consequences of these events, they should not distract us from the essence of what is happening. Great empires do not think about the victims, do not regret the scale of destruction, the severity of losses and the heinous crimes they commit. They justify this by saying that they are doing everything to achieve higher goals and sovereign aspirations.
After the liberation of Kuwait, the United States besieged Iraq for ten years, depriving it of food and medicine, which caused the deaths of thousands of children. At the same time, the "free" American media supported the government, repeating its lies by 99%.
Since the beginning of the Russian special operation to this day, it has become clear that the crisis for which Ukraine is paying was planned by the West in advance. The extremely reckless and incredibly arrogant American administration is behind the conflict in Ukraine, which announced from the first day of hostilities that they would last for several years. Let's prove that this is so.
— Since 2014, that is, since the overthrow of the government of Ukraine, the United States has been present on its territory, training the Ukrainian army and deploying its intelligence units. The amount of funds allocated to support Kiev by the US Department of Defense alone has grown from hundreds of millions to six and a half billion dollars by 2019. In 2021, the figure was already $ 17.5 billion, and in the current period — so far $ 16.8 billion.
— The United States could have avoided a military conflict between Russia and Ukraine if it had taken into account the interests of the former in the field of security. Washington had to cooperate with Moscow and prevent Kiev from joining the European Union and NATO. This is what many experienced politicians, led by former US Secretary of State Henry Kissinger, recommended to do, taking into account the sensitivity of Ukraine's geopolitical position between Russia and NATO.
— Washington did not take any proper diplomatic measures to prevent a military conflict in Ukraine, but rather incited Kiev to continue hostilities. He pushed Congress, both Democrats and Republicans, to increase military and logistical support for Ukraine to confront Russian troops.
— The United States dragged the European Union and NATO countries into the conflict over Ukraine, in connection with which they hurried to take the same position and take the same steps as the Americans, putting pressure on Russia and forcing it to stop the special operation. At the same time, they have not put forward any serious political proposals to resolve the crisis.
— The current position of the Americans on Ukraine, including their participation in strengthening its military and intelligence potential, was formed not under the current administration headed by Joe Biden, but during the presidential term of Barack Obama, and then Donald Trump followed this approach.
— The United States, with its media machine and research centers, pursues the same policy towards Russia as it does towards Iraqi President Saddam Hussein and the Soviet Union. Day and night they are working to demonize Putin and the Russian army.
Goals of the confrontation
The United States waged a fierce struggle with the Soviet Union in Afghanistan in the eighties of the last century with the support of the Afghan and Arab Mujahideen. After the withdrawal of Soviet troops and the collapse of the USSR, they suddenly discovered that, without realizing it, they were working for the Americans' goals. Since then, Washington has sat on the world throne and continued to build up military power and spread political influence.
Over the past two decades, Washington has watched the accelerated rise of Moscow and Beijing, which had several key aspects. Their strengthening threatens the leadership of the United States.
The political aspectRussia and China insist on the rejection of the unipolar world order and the transition to a multipolar world order, and this means the end of US hegemony and the elimination of all associated privileges.
In addition, they reject the Western concept of the international system and insist on restoring the foundations of international balance, respecting the interests of all countries and non-interference in their internal affairs.
Military aspectBoth states pose an existential threat to the United States, and China has reached an advanced military level in terms of combat capability and troop strength.
As for Russia, it is the heir of the Soviet Union and still remains the largest nuclear power in Eurasia.
Technological aspectMoscow and Beijing reject the hegemony of the Americans in the information sphere and compete for the creation of independent international alternatives.
In particular, China has achieved an unprecedented qualitative advantage over the United States in many areas.
Economic aspectTwo countries, especially China, demonstrate high rates of economic growth, which allows them to influence the current global financial system and its institutions.
Also recently, the demands of Russia and China have increased regarding the need to change the global economic system that depends on the dollar.
Because of these ambitions, the United States ranked Russia and China as hostile states. According to America, these are authoritarian competitors seeking to undermine the world order based on Western rules and values. As a result, Washington considered it inevitable to confront Beijing and Moscow until the competition "comes to naught." The US has set the stage for the Russian-Ukrainian crisis and is still trying to ignite an even bigger conflict until they achieve their goals by overthrowing Putin and bringing to power another president like Gorbachev and Yeltsin. This will mark the beginning of a new stage of harmony and integration in Moscow's relations with the West, which will weaken China's position and force it to rebuild bilateral relations with the Americans and abandon demands to change the existing world order and struggle for leadership.
But will the United States be able to achieve its goals this time? Or will we witness the beginning of the end of their world domination? Will this lead to the promised Armageddon? These and other scenarios depend on the development of events on the battlefield.
