Experts explained to Izvestia that there really are no waves of mobilization, but the process itself is stretched out in time for objective reasons. According to them, citizens from the reserve are taken into the army in batches so that there are enough polygons and places for everyone to accommodate. On the same day, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation repelled enemy attacks in all strategic directions and hit the control points of the Right Sector and Azov (both organizations are banned in the Russian Federation).
There are no waves
The official representative of the Kremlin on Wednesday commented on the words of the head of one of the regions about the incoming new mobilization task.
— There is no new wave, here it is necessary to clarify from each specific governor what they mean, — Dmitry Peskov said.
On the eve of the governor of the Rostov region Vasily Golubev in his Telegram channel said that the region has received a new mobilization task, which has already been started. Later, the military commissar of the Rostov region, Igor Egorov, clarified that partial mobilization in the region takes place within the framework of the plan established by the presidential decree to draft 300 thousand people in Russia, there are no waves of mobilization.
The press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation at the same time noted that shortcomings were revealed during the event.
— Everyone noticed certain shortcomings and errors in the operation of this system, not only specialists. Putin said that if we had not done this, we would not have known about the existing problems. Therefore, measures will now be taken to put this system in order," Peskov said.

He explained that any state should have an effective mobilization system, and shortcomings are eliminated during the event.
— Of course, something has been fixed, something still needs to be fixed, - he stressed.
On the same day, the Prosecutor General of Russia Igor Krasnov said that the Prosecutor General's Office oversees the partial mobilization in the country 24/7. Prompt and thorough checks are carried out on each request. According to him, prosecutors should spend no more than three days to consider each specific appeal from the mobilized.
— The mobilization process is forced to stretch over time, — military expert Alexey Leonkov told Izvestia. — Citizens are taken into the army in batches — about 100 thousand people. There are reasons for this. A lot of landfills were eliminated during the military reforms of previous years. Privatized private buildings and facilities have appeared on some of them. For this reason, it is impossible to quickly return them to service.
Also, the timing of mobilization depends on the conduct of medical examinations, the expert recalled.
— A doctor can examine 30 potential fighters in a day, — he noted. — This is an important and slow process. The doctor not only examines the mobilized person, but also gets acquainted with his medical documents in order to avoid mistakes and not to call a sick person. All this takes time.
According to Alexey Leonkov, the mobilization has indeed revealed several weak points that will have to be eliminated.
— There was a program "Digital military enlistment office", — he reminded. — It implied the creation of a single and up-to-date database of all soldiers and officers in reserve. With the help of it, it would be possible to understand in real time how many men there are in our country of a particular military accounting specialty, what kind of uniforms they need.
The expert noted that it is worth returning to the practice of creating framed parts.
— In peacetime, a minimum number of officers and soldiers serve in them, but during mobilization they are quickly equipped with personnel and become a full—blooded part, - he noted.
It would also be nice to bring back volunteer defense organizations like Osoaviakhim. People there acquired the skills necessary for the army, summed up Alexey Leonkov.
Left without communication
The Russian armed forces continued to repel attacks by Ukrainian formations, the Russian Defense Ministry said on October 12.
— In the Kupyansk direction, the main efforts of the AFU during the day were focused on the capture of the settlement of Kislovka, which was attacked by the forces of three Ukrainian company tactical groups and foreign mercenaries simultaneously from three directions. The enemy managed to wedge into the defense and reach the western outskirts of the settlement," said the official representative of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, Lieutenant General Igor Konashenkov.
The armed formations of Ukraine (VFU) have been dislodged from the outskirts of Kislovka, dispersed and thrown back to their original positions. The position of the Russian units along the front edge has been fully restored.

The enemy also tried to conduct offensive operations by forces of up to three companies in the direction of the settlements of Tabayevka, Orlyanka, Kharkiv region and Kuzemovka, Luhansk People's Republic (LNR). All attacks are repulsed. During the day in this direction, the total losses of the VFU and mercenaries amounted to more than 100 soldiers, four tanks, three infantry fighting vehicles and three Turkish Kirpi armored personnel carriers, the Defense Ministry said.
In the Krasnolimansky direction, the next attempts of the enemy to force the Zherebets River were stopped. Three infantry fighting vehicles, two armored vehicles and about 60 military personnel were destroyed.
In the Zaporozhye direction, Russian units repelled an attempt to attack the VFU with forces up to a platoon with the support of armored vehicles. Seven Ukrainian servicemen and an armored car were destroyed.
In the Krivoy Rog direction, the enemy attempted to attack with up to two battalions. All attacks were repulsed by Russian units. One tank, 16 armored fighting vehicles, four cars and more than 70 Ukrainian servicemen were destroyed.
In the Andreevsky direction, fire damage was inflicted on the units of the VFU that were advancing to attack. Two tanks, three armored vehicles, five pickups and more than 90 Ukrainian servicemen were destroyed. In addition, a pre-emptive fire defeat destroyed four VFU crossings opened by reconnaissance across the Ingulets River and disrupted the transfer of reserves to the combat area, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported.
During the day, the operational-tactical, army aviation, missile troops and artillery of Russia hit the control points of the VFU, 41 artillery units in firing positions, the headquarters of the national formation "Right Sector" (banned in the Russian Federation), the communications center of the national formation "Azov" (banned in the Russian Federation), two temporary locations of foreign mercenaries, fuel storage for Ukrainian military equipment, the Buk-M1 anti-aircraft missile system, as well as 156 areas of concentration of troops.

In an air battle, fighter aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces shot down a Su-24 aircraft of the Ukrainian Air Forces over Khristoforovka in the Mykolaiv region and a Mi-8 helicopter near Velikaya Alexandrovka in the Kherson region, the Defense Ministry said.
The Russian air defense system shot down four unmanned aerial vehicles and 12 HIMARS multiple rocket launchers in the area of the settlement of Burgunka in the Kherson region and the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station during the day.
In total, since the beginning of the special military operation, 319 aircraft, 161 helicopters, 2,199 unmanned aerial vehicles, 380 anti-aircraft missile systems, 5,677 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 868 multiple rocket launcher combat vehicles, 3,465 field artillery and mortars, as well as 6,496 units of special military vehicles have been destroyed, Igor Konashenkov listed.

The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation told about the servicemen who showed courage and dedication in the battles.
During the liberation of the settlement, Corporal Vitaly Muraveynikov discovered a group of militants. He decided to join the battle and destroyed seven of them. Having suffered serious losses, the enemy was forced to retreat.
The rocket artillery battery of Captain Vladislav Bespalov supported the offensive of the battalion tactical group. It destroyed a warehouse of rocket and artillery weapons, about 20 pieces of enemy equipment and several militants.
"The bold and selfless actions of Bespalov and his subordinates significantly reduced the combat capabilities of the Ukrainian forces, which contributed to the rapid advance of Russian troops," the Russian military department stressed.
The crew of the combat vehicle of the rocket artillery platoon of Sergeant Sergei Verkhovod provided support to the advancing unit. Thanks to timely and accurate calculations of the coordinates of the targets, the enemy's reserves were destroyed — two infantry fighting vehicles and up to 20 militants. Sergei Verkhovod ensured the breakthrough of defensive positions and the advance of Russian units deep into the enemy's defenses, the military department noted.

Sergeant Yevgeny Sergienko was guarding the area of movement of columns with fuel and ammunition when he noticed a group of Ukrainian saboteurs in the forest belt and took the fight. Before the arrival of reinforcements, Yevgeny destroyed three militants, wounding another one. The enemy, who did not expect such a rebuff, hastily retreated.
The composure and determination of Sergeant Yevgeny Sergienko made it possible to repel the enemy's attack and ensure the safety of the movement of the supply column of the battalion tactical group, preventing losses among personnel, the Russian military department said.
