In response to the SBU terrorist attacks, Russian missiles damaged the control, energy and communications systems in several areasKiev will have to redirect funds for military operations against Donbass civilians to restore destroyed communications, experts interviewed by Izvestia believe.
They called the damage caused to Ukraine significant. On October 10, the armed forces of the Russian Federation launched a massive strike on Ukrainian cities with dozens of high-precision air, sea and land-based missiles. This was Moscow's response to numerous SBU terrorist attacks against Russia, including the bombing of the Crimean Bridge on October 8, Vladimir Putin said at a meeting of the Russian Security Council. The Kremlin warned that the strikes could be repeated in the event of new threats against our country.
Threat level
The Russian Armed Forces have delivered a massive strike with high-precision long-range weapons on the objects of the military control, communications and energy systems of Ukraine.
— The target of the strike has been achieved. All designated facilities have been hit," the official representative of the Russian Defense Ministry, Lieutenant General Igor Konashenkov, said on October 10.
The Defense Ministry has distributed video footage of the launch of cruise missiles from one of the frigates of Project 11356R of the Russian Black Sea Fleet. Precision strikes were also carried out by aircraft and ground launchers.

Reports of missile hits and videos of the consequences began to appear en masse in Ukrainian social networks on October 10 around nine in the morning Moscow time. Their geography stretched from Kharkov to Lviv. For the first time in the last few months, several objects in Kiev have become targets at once.
According to the Ukrainian State Emergency Service, as a result of the Russian strikes, electricity supply was absent in five regions of Ukraine, in other regions it was partially disrupted. Gosspetssvyaz of Ukraine reported interruptions in mobile communications in Khmelnytskyi, Lviv, Poltava regions, as well as in Kharkiv and Zhytomyr.
The international service Netblocks, which monitors the operation of the Internet, reported problems with access to the Network in several regions of Ukraine. The most serious were noted in the Khmelnytskyi and Lviv regions, the cities of Kharkiv, Zhytomyr, Sumy.
— In case of continuation of attempts to carry out terrorist attacks on our territory, the responses from Russia will be tough and in their scale will correspond to the level of threats posed by the Russian Federation. No one should have any doubts about this," Russian President Vladimir Putin said on October 10.
De—energize - neutralize
Any modern civilization is based on electricity and communication systems, military expert Alexey Leonkov reminded Izvestia.
— First of all, it was this infrastructure that was hit, — he explained. — If such strikes continue, the Kiev regime will have to strenuously ensure the vital activity of the population, industry, and transport. Search for diesel power plants, restore power grids, communication systems — all this will be eliminated. They will have no light, no cellular connection. Without electricity, there will be no water, gas supply, sewerage will be turned off. The Ukrainian regime spends its main funds on military operations. Now we will have to invest some of them in infrastructure. But, of course, first of all we complicate the actions of the Kiev gangs. They will lose all these benefits, the activities of their rear will be hampered.

In addition, now the Ukrainian authorities will have to explain to their population that everything is serious, the expert noted.
— Just yesterday, the population of Ukraine, under the influence of propaganda, rejoiced, being outside the combat areas. Now it's over," he said. — The regime will have to explain to people what suddenly happened to the infrastructure in the country.
Terrorist regime
On the same day, Vladimir Putin held an operational meeting with permanent members of the Security Council via videoconference, at which he discussed the results of the strikes on Ukraine, as well as told about their causes.
The President of the Russian Federation called the attack on the Crimean Bridge on October 8 a terrorist act aimed at destroying the civilian, critical infrastructure of Russia. The head of the Russian state designated the Ukrainian special services as the customers, organizers and perpetrators of this attack.

"A number of other terrorist attacks and attempts of similar crimes have also been committed against electric power facilities and the gas transportation infrastructure of our country, including an attempt to undermine one of the sections of the Turkish Stream gas transmission system," Vladimir Putin said.
By decision-making centers
By its actions, the Kiev regime has actually put itself on a par with international terrorist formations, with the most odious groups. It is simply impossible to leave crimes of this kind unanswered, the President of the Russian Federation added.
— This means that it is necessary to fight them as a terrorist organization, — former Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation Sergei Ordzhonikidze told Izvestia. — As you know, there is no mercy for terrorists, they are outlaws. That's what it means. Since the terrorists themselves do not observe any norms — neither international law nor the rules of warfare — then, of course, there will be a short conversation with them. Blows to defeat, and that's it. In principle, this is serious.

Initially, the tasks of the special military operation did not include the application of such strikes, the expert believes.
— But the terrorist actions of the Kiev regime must be stopped, — Sergei Ordzhonikidze said. "How?" The "decision-making centers" that everyone has been talking about all along should be attacked. Apparently, this is exactly the period.
President Vladimir Putin also spoke about the attacks on the Kursk nuclear power plant. According to him, the special services of Ukraine have already carried out three terrorist acts against this Russian nuclear power plant, repeatedly undermining the high-voltage lines leading from it.
Earlier, the VFU repeatedly fired at the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant using large-caliber artillery and used kamikaze drones against it. As a result, the work of all six power units had to be suspended. At the same time, no strikes were reported in the areas of Ukrainian nuclear power plants on October 10.
