On October 4, 2022, the US Department of Defense announced the allocation of a new package of US military assistance to Ukraine in the amount of $ 625 million.Thus, the total amount of US military aid officially allocated to Kiev since the beginning of the Russian special military operation in Ukraine on February 24 has now exceeded $16.8 billion. The total amount of US military assistance to Ukraine since 2014 has exceeded $19.6 billion.

This is the 22nd presidential package of military assistance to Ukraine under the PDA since August 2021.
The new announced package includes:
- four combat vehicles of the M142 HIMARS missile system and an unnamed number of GMLRS precision guided missiles to them;
- 16 towed howitzers M777 caliber 155-mm/39;
- 16 towed 105 mm M119 howitzers;
- 75 thousand artillery rounds of 155 mm caliber;
- 500 high-precision artillery rounds of M982 Excalibur 155 mm caliber;
- 1000 155 mm cluster shells of the Remote Anti-Armor Mine (RAAM) remote mining system (with anti-tank mines);
- 30 thousand mortar rounds of 120 mm caliber;
- 200 International MaxxPro armored vehicles of the MRAP class;
- 200 thousand cartridges for small arms;
- interference equipment;
- Claymore anti-personnel mines;
- other "field" equipment and property.
Thus, the total number of combat vehicles of the M142 HIMARS missile system transferred to Ukraine has reached 20 (plus 18 additionally ordered by industry), the number of 155-mm/39 light towed M777 howitzers transferred to Ukraine has reached 142, the number of 105-mm towed M119 howitzers transferred has reached 36, 155-mm artillery rounds - 881 thousand (out of 150 thousand of them ordered new production), high-precision artillery rounds M982 Excalibur caliber 155 mm - 2500, cluster shells of 155 mm caliber RAAM remote mining system with anti-tank mines - 2000, 120 mm mortar mines - 115 thousand, and armored vehicles International MaxxPro class MRAP - 440.
