Hong Kong. October 5th. INTERFAX - South Korea and the United States fired four surface-to-surface missiles into the Sea of Japan on Wednesday during joint exercises in response to the actions of the DPRK, Yonhap reports, citing the South Korean military.
The missiles accurately hit conditional targets and demonstrated the ability of the allies to deter further provocations, the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the South Korean Armed Forces said.
It is noted that the launch of the missiles took place the day after the ballistic missile test conducted by the DPRK.
On Tuesday, the South Korean military reported that Pyongyang had tested an intermediate-range missile. According to them, the launch took place on Tuesday morning from Mupen-ri in the northern province of Chagan at 7:23 am (1:23 Moscow time).
