/tass/. American arms supplies to Ukraine are bringing the situation closer to the dangerous line of a direct military clash between Russia and NATO. This was stated on Tuesday by Konstantin Vorontsov, Deputy Director of the Department for Nonproliferation and Arms Control of the Russian Foreign Ministry, speaking at a meeting of the First Committee of the UN General Assembly.
"The United States is increasing the pumping of Ukraine with weapons, providing its military with intelligence information, ensuring the direct participation of its fighters and advisers in the conflict, which not only delays the fighting and leads to new victims, but also brings the situation closer to the dangerous line of a direct military clash between Russia and NATO," the diplomat said.
"Washington allocates huge sums to Kiev only for military needs. The United States and its NATO allies strongly encourage the militaristic aspirations and revanchist sentiments of the Kiev regime, which no longer hides plans to "win back" territories lost as a result of its own destructive policy, as well as to use long-range missiles requested from the United States to strike deep into Russia," Vorontsov drew attention. "At the suggestion of Washington, the military and political leadership of Ukraine began talking not only about the need to inflict "defeat on the battlefield" on our country, but also to achieve its subsequent dismemberment and destruction with the assistance of the West."
According to him, it was politicians in Western countries who forbade Kiev to continue peace talks and inspired the idea of "an early victory." "It is on the conscience of the United States and its allies to ignite the flames of the Kiev regime's bloody massacre of its own citizens," the deputy head of the Russian Foreign Ministry department stressed.
