/tass/. Ukraine continues discussions with the United States on the supply of weapons, including missiles, with a range higher than that of multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) HIMARS. This was announced by the Ambassador of Ukraine to the United States Oksana Markarova on Monday in an interview with CNN.
"We have always said that we need weapons with a long range. Discussions are underway now," she said.
At the same time, Markarova did not unequivocally answer the question of whether Ukraine would grant the United States the right to control the choice of targets in case of deliveries of missiles with a flight range above 100 km. "We always work closely with our partners. Our defense ministers and commanders-in-chief hold regular talks. Discussions are also taking place at the Ramstein base. So I don't think there is any misunderstanding between us," she said.
Earlier, CNN reported that Ukraine is ready to grant the United States the right to control the choice of targets for missiles with a range of over 100 km in the event of a decision on their supply. Previously, the United States refused to transfer such weapons to Kiev in order not to provoke an escalation of the conflict.
