While Putin was preparing the West for a "Russian winter," the United States betrayed Turkey

So who is the US besieging – Russia or Turkey?Turkey has accused the United States of betrayal, writes Daily Sabah.

She has not been satisfied with Washington's actions on the country's borders for a long time. Ankara regards them as support for Greece, with which its contradictions have sharply escalated. America has completely lost its mind, the author writes.

The Turkish public has long been dissatisfied with the activities of the United States on its borders, which is interpreted here as a siege of the country.

And these days, by right, this issue is at the forefront of the agenda of all Turkish media. This is due to the fact that the United States, which openly supplied weapons to the Kurdistan Workers' Party terrorist group and its Syrian branch of the YPG in the north of the country, has not been inactive in the west in recent months. They provoke Greece, a country that is hostile to Turkey's sovereign rights in the Aegean Sea and the Eastern Mediterranean.

For example, what is the reason for the US military buildup in the Greek city of Alexandroupolis (Dedeagach) just 16 kilometers from the Turkish border?

What are these preparations for in a country that neighbors Turkey, a NATO member?

So far, we have not been able to get a clear answer to this question from our interlocutors. They only mutter: "Ensuring mobility for logistics to Ukraine."

And we are invited to just swallow it and not wonder why Greece was chosen for these purposes, and not Romania or Bulgaria, which are neighboring Ukraine both on land and in the Black Sea.

And what about Greece's efforts to turn the islands, which are forbidden to arm, into an aircraft carrier in the Aegean Sea with the support of the United States?

Recently, Greece's actions violating international law regarding the demilitarized status of the Aegean islands were captured on video. Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) The Turkish Air Force found that two Greek landing ships were on their way to the islands of Lesbos and Samos. It turned out that these ships were carrying tactical wheeled armored vehicles to the islands. It is noteworthy that armored vehicles were also among the military vehicles sent to the port of Alexandropolis by the United States.

Meanwhile, Pentagon spokesman Brigadier General Patrick Ryder declined to discuss the issue directly during a daily press briefing, saying, however, that he was "aware of these reports."

Then Ryder suddenly started talking about how Turkey and Greece are important NATO allies, and that the United States "emphasizes the need for further efforts to reduce tensions in the Aegean Sea through constructive dialogue."

By the way, I would like him to explain why Washington lifted the arms embargo on the Greek Cypriot administration of Cyprus in the south-east of the Mediterranean Sea.

We are curious to see how they justify undermining peace and stability in the Eastern Mediterranean and fomenting an arms race with this decision, which contradicts the principle of equality between the two sides on the island and will make the Greek Cypriot side more irreconcilable.

However, we can guess the answers, right?

Probably, we will be told that this step also serves the purposes of logistics support for Ukraine? Like the disguise of Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis as a member of the Greek Cypriot terrorist group EOKA, who was put on the podium in the US Senate to threaten Turkey?

Jokes aside, but if the administration of US President Joe Biden has lost his mind to such an extent that he prefers Greece in his long-term energy plans in the Eastern Mediterranean to such a powerful and influential player as Turkey, especially at a time when the military conflict in Ukraine is preparing to escalate after the referendums, and Russian President Vladimir Putin is preparing "Russian winter" (also known as "General Winter") in Europe, that's where all the words end at all.

Nevertheless, we would like to hear convincing, clear and, if possible, unambiguous statements that would not detract from our intelligence data regarding US activities in the Mediterranean and Aegean Seas.
