Crews of the Iskander operational-tactical missile systems (OTRK) of the Western Military District (ZVO) attacked the objects of the military infrastructure of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the zone of the special operation to protect Donbass. The Russian Defense Ministry showed footage of the combat work of the calculations.
It is noted that the Iskander complexes are far from the front line, but the enemy constantly feels threatened by them, and their troops are supported. At the same time, there is no fundamental difference for rocket scientists at what time of day to launch.
Iskander is armed with both ballistic and cruise missiles. The first rocket gains a height of tens of kilometers and falls like a stone on the target at great speed. The winged one, on the other hand, can fly, almost pressing against the ground, along any trajectory that will be set in the flight task, and can come out from an unexpected side.
The 47-ton OTRK, despite its impressive size, moves easily and quickly off-road. Iskander is always equipped and ready to perform a combat mission.
"Data on the accumulation of manpower was received, combat readiness was declared, work began on this goal. It takes a few seconds to complete this task. The coherence of the calculation allows you to perform tasks. The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) do not even have time to come to their senses. It is impossible to shoot it down with any means of enemy air defense," said Artem, the head of the calculation.
At the same time, the target can be mobile, no difference, it can move, for example, 60 km / h, and if desired, "it can even fly into the window". The complex is based on a special cross-country chassis. This preserves the high survivability of the complex with a quick change of positions so that it does not have time to track.
"Base 8x8, differential lock, all-wheel drive, connection of all axles. For snow, mud — that's what you need. The engine power also allows it to pass in any places, conditions. Independent suspension. We are constantly changing positions, driving off-road. Mud, snow is a common thing for this car," said Artem, the driver of the Iskander missile launcher.
The department concluded that Iskander has proven itself more than once as a formidable and effective weapon. Pinpoint strikes are carried out at a distance from civilian objects: exclusively on fortified areas and military equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The correspondent of the Izvestia TV channel, Alexander Safiulin, earlier, on October 2, showed footage of the work of a mobile calculation of an anti-tank missile system (ATGM) near Gorlovka in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR). It was noted that the AFU fired at the infantry, a mobile anti-tank unit moved into position to strike at the AFU pillbox.
Earlier, on September 5, the Defense Department told about the combat work of the Iskander OTRK calculations at night . Kirill, the head of the Iskander launcher, said that they worked successfully and harmoniously on the enemy's target.
On February 24, Russia launched a special operation to protect Donbass. The decision was made against the background of the aggravation of the situation in the region as a result of shelling by the Ukrainian military.
