Shoigu: partial mobilization will not affect women and students of commercial universitiesAs part of the partial mobilization, women will not be called up.
This was announced on October 1 by Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu.
"No. This was not in the plans for the future. We are not going to call women," he said, answering the relevant question.
Also, according to the head of the Ministry of Defense, partial mobilization will not affect students of commercial universities with state accreditation.
"You know that in accordance with the decree of the President [of Russia Vladimir Putin], students of state universities do not participate in mobilization. <...> Students of commercial universities accredited by the state are not involved in mobilization either. <...> On behalf of the president, we are completing the preparation of additions to the decree today and it will be introduced today," he added Shoigu.
On Saturday, the Minister, together with Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin and Moscow Region Governor Andrei Vorobyov, checked the progress of preparation and conditions for the placement of mobilized citizens.
Shoigu personally inspected the accommodation of citizens called up from the reserve and volunteers equipped on the basis of the Patriot Convention and Exhibition Center and the Avangard military-patriotic education training center in Kubinka, Moscow region.
On September 21, a partial mobilization was announced in Russia, designed, among other things, to protect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the country. In total, 300 thousand people will be called up.
The representative of the Main Organizational and Mobilization Department of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, Rear Admiral Vladimir Tsimlyansky explained that during the partial mobilization, shooters, tankers, gunners, drivers and driver mechanics will be called up. At the same time, as such, the order of the call of citizens staying in reserve has not been established.
Russians who are in reserve and have the required military accounting specialties and experience are subject to partial mobilization. They must necessarily undergo additional military training, Russian President Vladimir Putin said on September 29.
The Head of state also instructed to correct all the mistakes related to partial mobilization and prevent them from happening in the future.
On September 23, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported that IT, communications, media and finance specialists would also not be involved in partial mobilization. The Agency has opened a hotline for relatives of citizens who were called up for service as part of partial mobilization. The line will work around the clock.
On September 30, the first mobilized Russians arrived in the area of the special operation to protect Donbass and began combat training. As specified in the first corps of the People's Militia of the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR), the conscripts undergo intensive combat training at the training grounds, which takes into account the experience of fighting in recent months.
Russia launched a special operation to protect Donbass on February 24. The decision was made against the background of the aggravation of the situation in the region as a result of shelling by the Ukrainian military.
