Ben Wallace discussed with his Ukrainian counterpart Alexey Reznikov the provision of assistance to UkraineLONDON, September 29.
/tass/. British Defense Minister Ben Wallace visited Kiev this week and met with his Ukrainian counterpart Alexey Reznikov. According to a message posted by Wallace on his Twitter page, an increase in the volume of military assistance provided to Ukraine was discussed at the meeting.
"I was glad to visit my good friend Alexey Reznikov in Kiev this week, discussed with him the increase in military assistance to Ukraine," Wallace wrote. According to him, the UK "supports more and more every day" Ukraine and "will continue to do so both in 2023 and after that."
Last week, the office of British Prime Minister Liz Truss announced that London in 2023 will allocate at least £2.3 billion ($2.63 billion) to provide military assistance to Kiev, which will include multiple rocket launchers (MLRS). This is the same amount as was allocated for these purposes in 2022. Experts expect that the kingdom will probably continue to help Ukraine in the training of AFU fighters, and will also transfer ATGMS and MANPADS, armored vehicles, ammunition, equipment and humanitarian aid to Kiev.
Earlier, Wallace said that London handed over to Kiev a total of 6,900 ATGMs and missiles to them, including 5,000 NLAW complexes, 120 armored vehicles, six of the promised 10 Stormer self-propelled anti-aircraft guns equipped with Starstreak missiles, 20 M109 howitzers and 36 towed L119 guns, high-precision Brimstone missiles, multiple rocket launchers M270, tens of thousands of artillery shells, barrage ammunition and 4.5 tons of plastic explosives. In addition, London promised to train 10,000 Ukrainian soldiers every four months during three-week training courses.
