/tass/. Ukrainian troops can use the weapons systems provided by the United States to strike territories that they consider their own, including territories that are joining Russia. This was stated at a briefing on Wednesday by the head of the press service of the State Department, Ned Price.
"We have made it clear that when it comes to certain systems with an extended range, these systems can be used on the sovereign territory of Ukraine <...>. When and if the annexation takes place, as we expect, these (liberated by the Russian Federation) territories will remain Ukrainian," he said.
On September 20, the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions announced their decision to hold referendums on joining Russia as subjects of the federation. Referendums were held from September 23 to 27. In all the mentioned regions, the overwhelming majority of those who voted voted in favor of joining Russia.
