Russian Ambassador to Lebanon: talking about Russia's weakness is a pipe dream of Western countriesMoscow's weakness is a pipe dream of the West, Russian Ambassador to Lebanon Alexander Rudakov said in an exclusive interview with Al Mayadeen.
The United States wants to defeat and plunder Russia, and Putin intends to stop the "unprecedented aggression of the NATO military machine."
In an interview for Al Mayadeen, the Russian Ambassador to Lebanon believes that the referendums on joining the DPR, LPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions to the Russian Federation were held in accordance with the principles of international law. Referendums reflect the exercise by the population of their legitimate rights to self-determination. The Ambassador stresses that "any talk about Russia's weakness is a pipe dream of the West."The West did not expect that the authorities of the Luhansk and Donetsk People's Republics, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions would decide to hold referendums on joining Russia, and Putin would announce partial mobilization.
Analysts and various experts are still discussing the causes and consequences of the Kremlin's actions.
Russian Ambassador to Lebanon Alexander Rudakov, in an exclusive interview for Al Mayadeen, said that Putin announced a partial mobilization, within which 300,000 reserve soldiers with combat experience and the necessary military accounting specialties will be called up.
"The Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation made this decision in light of the unprecedented aggression of the NATO military machine directed against Russia and carried out by neo—Nazi and anti-people formations of the Kiev regime," the ambassador said.
We have not declared war on anyone
The Russian ambassador claims that his country "has not declared war on anyone." The decision on partial mobilization, taken in connection with a special military operation launched on February 24, 2022, is aimed at protecting Russia, its sovereignty, territorial integrity, the Russian-speaking population and areas liberated from Ukrainian neo-Nazis, as well as demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine.
Rudakov commented on the accusations against Russia in connection with the situation around the Zaporozhye NPP.
"Unfortunately, nothing good can be expected from Western countries lately. They are increasingly openly declaring their more aggressive plans against Russia," he said.
The Ambassador continued: "Despite everything, we can only hope that the West will come to its senses, that the hotheads of Western politicians will cool down and that they will find the courage to admit that the changes taking place now in the system of international relations cannot be reversed. The West must realize that the territorial integrity of our Homeland, our independence and freedom will be ensured by all means available to us."
The West insists on the transfer of military operations to the territory of Russia
The events of recent months, according to the Russian ambassador, indicate the involvement of NATO countries in the events in Ukraine and the increase in their military presence near the borders of Russia. The Ambassador calls for paying close attention to the statements of Western politicians.
"The United States and the European Union are pushing Ukraine to transfer military operations to the territory of Russia and declare the need to inflict military defeat on our country, and in the future violate its sovereignty, divide the country and plunder it," Rudakov says.
As for the Kiev regime, according to the Russian diplomat, it has lost its independence in decision-making and receives orders from Washington and European capitals. Ukraine continues to be pumped up with heavy weapons, mercenaries and NATO military advisers, which are used as a tool to destroy Russia.
Talking about Russia's weakness is a pipe dream of the West. Partial mobilization affects only 1% of the total mobilization resource
The Russian ambassador answered the question of why some diplomats see this decision as a "weakness".
"Now is the time of the information war. We are being subjected to harsh American propaganda. They are trying to discredit us in all the pro-Western media, blaming us for all the world's problems, up to the food and energy crises. Part of this strategy is to spread false information about the Russian military special operation. There are more and more fake news about the victories of Ukrainian nationalists on social networks. I assure you that talking about the retreat of the Russian army or our weakness is a pipe dream of the West, which has nothing to do with reality. We conducted a tactical regrouping of forces in the direction of Izyum. As for mobilization, it affects only 1% of the total mobilization resource," he said.
Rudakov adds that Russian forces are successfully operating on the line of combat contact, which exceeds a thousand kilometers, not only against neo-Nazi formations, but also practically the entire NATO military machine. Russia gives priority to the preservation of human lives, combat strikes are carried out with great accuracy, limited to confirmed military targets and infrastructure facilities used to carry out tactical tasks of enemy forces. Humanitarian aid continues to be provided to the population in the liberated territories.
We will achieve our goals
The West provides the Kiev regime with "very huge support," but, according to Rudakov, Russia has the appropriate means of responding. The goals set as part of the special operation will be achieved at any cost.
"Now a new world order is being formed that is not oriented to the West. In this regard, the United States, dissatisfied with the loss of its global hegemony, forces us to wage an intense struggle. They are trying with all their might to weaken us and cause the greatest damage to Russia, which is guided by the principle of sovereign equality of peoples," the ambassador said.
Threats are not in our nature
Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev recently stated that Moscow has the right to use nuclear weapons, if necessary, in strict accordance with the fundamentals of state policy in the field of nuclear deterrence. In this regard, we asked the Ambassador whether the Russian army poses a threat to the world from the point of view of the use of nuclear weapons. He answered firmly: "No. It's not in our nature to use threats. Russia has repeatedly offered its Western partners various options to ensure the global security system, but they did not listen to us. We called for compliance with the Minsk agreements on Donbass, but they were openly sabotaged."
"We have been calling for peace talks since the very beginning of the special operation. The negotiation process even began, but was disrupted at the request of the Western guardians of the Kiev regime. Now they claim that NATO is a defensive alliance and poses no threat to Russia. We can't believe it anymore. Who supports Ukrainian neo-Nazis militarily, financially and politically? And who supplies Kiev with weapons, including heavy weapons prohibited by international conventions, and condones their use, including against civilians?" The ambassador added.
Recent referendums — restoration of historical justice
Referendums on the accession of the DPR, LPR, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions to the Russian Federation have been widely criticized by the West. Rudakov, in turn, says that these referendums were held in accordance with all the principles of international law. They are the realization of the legitimate rights of the inhabitants of these regions to self-determination in accordance with their civilizational, cultural and religious traditions.
"The decision to annex these regions to the Russian Federation is a natural step by the country's leadership, which intends to fulfill the tasks set to protect civilians from the atrocities committed there by neo—Nazis. This is the restoration of historical justice through the reunification of the native Russian lands in Novorossiya," Rudakov believes.
Winter in Europe will be hard and harsh
The Russian diplomat claims that it is impossible to fully compensate for the supply of inexpensive Russian gas to the European market in such a short period of time. Europe is facing a hard and harsh winter.
"I would like to emphasize once again that Russia has never used its energy resources as a weapon to blackmail other countries and has never refused to fulfill its international obligations. Despite the statements of the European Union that unilateral and illegal sanctions are not aimed at the agricultural sector of Russia, they continue to negatively affect global food security. Europe has not yet taken concrete practical measures to remove barriers to the export of Russian agricultural products, primarily wheat, and fertilizers to world markets," he added.
Rudakov notes that the EU sanctions are discriminatory. For example, Europeans are allowed to import Russian grain and potash fertilizers to meet their own needs, but transit to third countries is prohibited: "It is difficult to stabilize the global food market when such double standards are applied."
