/tass/. Nicaragua supports the fight against fascism, which is being waged by Russia. This was stated on Monday by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic Denis Moncada, speaking at the general political debate of the 77th session of the UN General Assembly.
"We would like to express our solidarity <...> with the continuous and great battle of the Russian Federation against fascism and for security, integrity and peace, which, we have no doubt, will continue to win," he said. The Minister also stressed that the time has come "to reject criminal blockades, manifestations of aggression, called sanctions, illegal and groundless."
On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a special military operation in connection with the request of the leaders of the republics of Donbass for help. He stressed that Moscow's plans do not include the occupation of Ukrainian territories, and the goals are demilitarization and denazification of the country. The West, in response to Russia's decision, began gradually imposing numerous and large-scale sanctions against it. Along with this, Western states have begun to supply weapons and military equipment to Kiev for amounts estimated at this stage in the tens of billions of dollars.
