The Russian Foreign Minister noted that the United States and Europe have not declared themselves parties to the conflict in Ukraine and must comply with the conventionsUN, September 24.
/tass/. The West's support of Ukraine in the fighting actually means direct participation in the war. This was stated on Saturday by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov at a press conference following participation in the 77th session of the UN General Assembly.
"Ukraine is openly pumped up with weapons, and [Ukrainian President Vladimir] Zelensky daily demands weapons from Germany, then from Israel criticizes Israel for not giving weapons in the amount that Ukraine asks for, or refers to what it lacks itself; intelligence data is provided, satellite data is provided," the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry listed the actions of the West in support of the Kiev regime.
"What is this, if not direct participation in the guidance of deadly weapons and participation in the war?" Lavrov asked himself.
Lavrov drew attention to the fact that Moscow did not raise the topic of nuclear weapons, while Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky announced Kiev's plans to obtain nuclear weapons even before the start of the special operation. "No one remembers that in January of this year Zelensky, long before the start of the special military operation, said in one of his speeches — he spoke a lot and continues to do so — that it was a major mistake for Ukraine to abandon nuclear weapons when the Soviet Union was disintegrating. This topic was thrown into his conversations about how to regulate the problems that arise on Ukraine," the Russian Foreign Minister said.
In addition, the head of the Russian diplomatic department recalled that Western politicians also addressed the topic of nuclear weapons. "After the start of the special operation, [ex-French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves] Le Drian loudly declared that Russia should remember that France also has its own nuclear weapons. You all know how Ms. [British Prime Minister Liz] commented The question of the correspondent about whether she would be afraid to press the red button runs," Lavrov stressed
According to the diplomat, the United States and European countries should comply with international conventions, since they did not declare themselves parties to the conflict on Ukraine.
"Even if we take the legal side of the matter, both the Americans, NATO, and the European Union say that they are not parties to the conflict, and if so, then the relevant conventions apply," the Russian Foreign Minister said at a press conference following participation in the 77th session of the UN General Assembly. He noted that we are talking, in particular, about the Hague Conventions adopted back in 1907, which still remain in force.
