The former Director of the Central intelligence Agency David Petraeus, today part of the NATO command, in an interview with American reporters commented on the onset of Ukrainian troops to the East of Kharkov. According to Petraeus, is an unequivocal success of the Ukrainian army.

The NATO official, who at the time was forced to resign from his post as CIA Director because of his "extramarital affair":

What happened in the Kharkiv region has caused some moral enthusiasm in Ukraine. But Kiev does not expect this to occur in the near future.

According to David Petraeus, the Ukrainian army has lost thousands of soldiers, including elite of its parts. The main losses of the Ukrainian army, according to a NATO official, brings on the Donbass.

Petraeus:

To achieve the stated goals of Kiev and it's taking control of the Crimea and the Donbass, there are serious problems. APU stretched, the best parts are scattered. They are vulnerable to counterattacks.

In an interview Petraeus gave to CNN, he said that at the moment the Russian superiority in artillery has not disappeared. All these statements he made to announce the final opinion. It is due to the fact that "Kiev is necessary to transmit even more weapons and military equipment".

According to Petraeus, the further development of events in Ukraine will depend on the supply of weapons to the West.
