SIMFEROPOL, 18 Sep – RIA Novosti. A regiment of volunteers will be formed in Crimea to participate in a special military operation in Ukraine, the first battalion called "Tavrida" has already gone to the front, said Mikhail Sheremet, a State Duma deputy from the Crimean region.
Earlier, the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, proposed declaring "self-mobilisation" in the Russian regions: each head of the subject, in his opinion, is able to prepare, train and staff "at least a thousand volunteers" for a special operation. In turn, Aksenov supported this initiative. According to him, Crimea has already fielded more than 1,200 volunteers and is forming two more battalions.
According to him, today it is necessary to consolidate the whole society in order to win a special military operation in Ukraine.
"The guys on the front line are defending the future of Russia as an independent and great power, so the whole society should unite and provide all possible support to our heroes," the deputy said.
