Kuban Cossack army forms new detachments to participate in a special operation in UkraineKRASNODAR, 16 Sep – RIA Novosti.
The representative of the press service of the Kuban Cossack army, Maria Borovik, told RIA Novosti about the preparation of the Cossacks for further participation in the special operation and the formation of additional detachments to participate in a special military operation in Ukraine.
Earlier, at the presentation of orders and medals for the performance of combat missions in the Luhansk and Donetsk People's Republics, the authorities announced that more than two thousand Kuban volunteers were participating in the military operation, including over 1,500 Cossacks.
"In the Krasnodar Territory, Cossacks conduct training sessions in a number of district Cossack societies in preparation for further participation in the special operation, including for replenishment and rotation of the active troops, as well as the creation of new detachments," the agency interlocutor informs.
Among the Cossack volunteer detachments, the press service called: "Kuban" - performs combat missions on the territory of the DPR in the Krasnolimansky direction, as well as "The First Volunteer Cossack detachment named after Zachary Chepegi" - in the Zaporozhye direction, there is a representation of the Kuban Cossacks in the Rostov detachment "Don".
Kuban Cossacks volunteer independently both through military enlistment offices and as part of military units: these are members of Cossack societies who serve on conscription, and then sign a contract, also remaining in the ranks of the Kuban Cossack army.
In addition, several military formations in the province have the status of Cossacks, where a large number of Cossacks serve under contract and, among other things, participate in a special military operation. These are the 7th Guards Airborne Assault Division from Novorossiysk, the 227th artillery brigade from Maykop and the 90th anti-aircraft missile brigade from the village of Afipsky. There are also a small number of Cossacks in the National Guard troops, Borovik notes.
"The Kuban army is the only army in the country that has been conducting targeted training for 15 years," the agency's interlocutor emphasizes.
We are talking about military field training camps at the bases of military units in the Krasnodar Territory, the Republic of Adygea and the Republic of Karachay-Cherkessia, since it is there that the departments of the Kuban Cossack army are historically located. This year, about 12 thousand Cossacks take part in military field training. They are trained by military instructors in shooting from all types of small arms, grenade launchers, tanks, driving armored personnel carriers and so on.
Also, for additional training of Cossacks who are sent to perform combat missions on the territory of a special military operation, there is a Center for the training of volunteer Cossacks.
