An explosion was heard in several cities of the Rostov region The sound of a powerful explosion was heard by residents of several cities in the Rostov region.
In Rostov-on-Don itself, car alarms started working after the explosion. Pockets of black smoke are visible in the Azov region. At the same time, an explosion was heard in Taganrog and black smoke was also noticed. In addition, as a result of the AFU shelling of the Logachevka border checkpoint in the Belgorod region, one person was killed and four were injured.
Explosion over the Rostov region
Residents of several cities in the Rostov region, including Rostov-on-Don itself, report a loud sound similar to an explosion. Local edition 161.RU reports that the explosion was heard in cities located 200 km from each other - in Novoshakhtinsk in the north and Yeysk in the south.
According to journalists, the source of the sound was under the village of Chaltyr, northwest of Rostov.
The video from the scene shows a column of thick black smoke. The press service of the Southern Military District has not yet commented on the incident.
Explosion near Taganrog
In the afternoon, it became known about the explosion near Taganrog. The mayor's office of Taganrog said that the sound of the explosion, which frightened the townspeople, was associated with the transition of the aircraft to supersonic mode.
"The law enforcement services in Taganrog work in an operational mode and carry out round-the-clock service. The situation in the city is under control," Taganrog officials added.

The shelling of Logachevka
In the Belgorod region, a border checkpoint and the village of Logachevka were under fire by the AFU. The governor of the region Vyacheslav Gladkov said that one person was killed and four others were injured as a result of Ukrainian shelling.
According to him, several farm buildings and private houses were partially destroyed in Logachevka, cars and power lines were damaged.
"Emergency services have now cut off the supply of gas and electricity. The head of the city district undertakes to restore everything as soon as possible," Gladkov added.
In addition, before that, the official said that the air defense system had worked in the Belgorod region.
