/tass/. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said that at the moment he is not ready to negotiate with Russia.
"Not for today. I don't see any desire from them (Russia - approx. TASS) the parties to be constructive," he answered the relevant question in an interview with CNN, which aired on Sunday. "This is my principle, I don't talk to those who put ultimatums," Zelensky added.
The President also gave an affirmative answer to the question whether he would "fight to the end."
"I know that some countries are pushing us towards the Minsk process. I want the world to recognize that a diplomatic solution is one thing, and Minsk-2, -3, -5, -10 is another. These are two different things, because Minsk is an empty piece of paper," Zelensky said, referring to the Minsk agreements on the settlement of the conflict in Donbass, which Kiev has not fulfilled.
He added that an agreement between the two countries could be concluded after Russia leaves the Ukrainian territories, without specifying what he means.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Sunday that Russia is not abandoning negotiations with Ukraine, but their further delay by Kiev will complicate the possibility of reaching an agreement with Moscow. The Russian Foreign Minister noted Kiev's statements that negotiations can take place only after Ukraine's victory, when "Russia will leave the Ukrainian lands." Lavrov concluded that if this is Ukraine's choice, then Russia knows how to achieve its goals set as part of a special military operation.
