/tass/. Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte held a telephone conversation with British Prime Minister Liz Truss, the parties discussed the situation in Ukraine and recognized the need to strengthen military assistance to Kiev.
Rutte said on Twitter that during the conversation, the first thing he expressed his condolences over the death of Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain and stressed the "close connection" between the two countries.
"We also discussed the situation in Ukraine <...>, and we agreed on the need to increase our military assistance," Rutte said.
On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a special military operation in connection with the request of the leaders of the republics of Donbass for help. The West, in response to Russia's decision, began gradually imposing numerous and large-scale sanctions against it.
