As noted by the deputy head of the Pentagon for Procurement and Technical Support Bill Laplante, the program will not expire at the end of the current fiscal yearWASHINGTON, September 9.
/tass/. US funds for military assistance to Ukraine are designed for two years, the program will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year (ends September 30). This was stated at a briefing on Friday by Bill Laplant, Deputy head of the Pentagon for Procurement and Technical Support.
"The answer to the question is quite direct: it won't end at the end of the [fiscal] year. The funds are designed for two years, I am sure of it," Laplante said, answering the question whether the aid will end by the end of the fiscal year.
The volume of the new package of military assistance to Ukraine will amount to $ 675 million, weapons will be supplied from the Pentagon's reserves. In total, under the current administration, the United States has allocated about $ 15.2 billion for military assistance to Kiev, since 2014 - $ 17.2 billion.
As Russia's permanent representative to the World Organization Vasily Nebenzia said at a meeting of the UN Security Council on Thursday, the weapons supplied to Kiev by the West do not play a decisive role on the battlefield in Ukraine.
