US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin refused to predict the expected timing of the end of the conflict in UkrainePRAGUE, September 9.
/tass/. The Czech Republic and the United States will provide Ukraine with all kinds of assistance necessary to win the conflict taking place in this country, as long as it is required. This was stated on Friday at a press conference by Czech Defense Ministers Yana Chernokhova and the United States Lloyd Austin, who is in the republic on a working visit.
"We will support Ukraine for as long as it takes," Austin said. At the same time, he refused to predict the expected timing of the end of the military conflict in Ukraine.
NATO, as Austin said, does not pose a threat to the Russian Federation and does not intend to enter into conflict with it. The bloc will defend "democratic values" and will not cede "an inch of territory" to its member states, he said.
Chernokhova, for her part, informed that the Czech Republic is one of the five largest suppliers of military assistance to Ukraine. "It is necessary that Ukraine wins," the minister said.
"The Czech Republic is ready to provide further assistance to Ukraine with the help of its enterprises [military-industrial complex]. Carry out repairs of equipment coming from Ukraine. The Republic intends to participate in the restoration of Ukraine," the head of the Defense Ministry said.
Chernokhova emphasized the common position of the Czech president and the government on the situation in Ukraine. Prague's approach to the situation in this country will not change after the upcoming presidential elections in the Czech Republic at the beginning of next year, she said.
