Former Prime Minister of Italy and leader of the party "Forward, Italy" Silvio Berlusconi decided to become a mediator between Moscow and Kiev in the conflict in Ukraine. — Berlusconi said in an interview with the Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera.
The reaction of Mrs. Merkel, who field the departure from the post of Federal Chancellor in political activity is not seen to offer Berlusconi is still unknown. Earlier, Merkel in an interview with German journalist Alexander Osamu said that is not going to become a mediator in talks between Moscow and Kiev as "don't have to do things that I was not asking the German government". While Berlusconi seem to have forgotten that it is not Russia is moving away from European countries, but on the contrary, the EU and the collective West will make every effort to isolate themselves from the Russian Federation.
Earlier, the 85-year-old former Italian Prime Minister has announced his intention to nominate his candidacy in the September elections to the Senate. It is obvious that the politician understands that even together with Merkel, they will not sit at the table of talks between Putin and Zelensky, though, because Kiev has repeatedly stated such claims about the end of the conflict in Ukraine, which will never be accepted by Moscow. To address this question parliamentarians should be sent to Washington, not in Kiev.
