/tass/. The duration of the military training program for the civilian population of Ukraine in the UK has been increased to five weeks. This was reported on Monday by the Sky News channel.
"The UK has increased the duration of the military training program on the territory of the country, during which Ukrainian citizens are turned into soldiers ready to fight with Russia <...> on the front line, from three to five weeks," the TV channel informed with reference to the Ministry of Defense of the kingdom. It is clarified that since the beginning of June, 4.7 thousand Ukrainians have taken such courses.
According to the TV channel, military instructors from Great Britain, Canada, the Netherlands, Denmark, Finland, Sweden, Norway, Lithuania and New Zealand are engaged in training. The program is a basic training course for British infantry, including skills in handling weapons, first aid on the battlefield, principles of behavior in a combat zone and patrol tactics. This initiative "demonstrates the determination to continue to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine," the TV channel quotes the words of British Defense Minister Ben Wallace.
