As stated in the Russian department, Washington is changing the tactics of conducting research in the Pentagon-controlled biological laboratoriesMOSCOW, September 3.
/tass/. The United States is changing the tactics of conducting research in biolabs controlled by the Pentagon in order to bring the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) out of harm's way. This was announced on Saturday by the head of the Russian troops of radiation, chemical and biological protection (RCBZ), Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov.
"At present, we are witnessing a change in the tactics of the American administration in an attempt to take out of harm's way the specified department [DTRA], whose activities have become the subject of international proceedings," Kirillov said.
According to the head of the RCBZ troops, in the Central Asian region, the functions of the customer of military biological programs have been transferred to civilian specialized organizations, their work will be controlled by the US Navy service, which is the most closed structure.
Kirillov recalled that the total US spending on biological programs in Ukraine exceeded $ 250 million. And the coordination of the work was carried out by the Department of the US Department of Defense to reduce the military threat. All studies were conducted in secret, access of Ukrainian specialists to information and premises was limited.
The research, the head of the RCBZ troops noted, took place in accordance with an agreement signed by the Pentagon and the Ministry of Health of Ukraine in 2005. Concerns of the Russian Federation about possible violations of the requirements of the articles of the Convention on the Prohibition of Biological and Toxin Weapons by the United States and Ukraine intensified after the order of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine dated February 24, 2022 on the emergency destruction of collections of pathogenic microorganisms.
"The materials received served as the basis for the Russian Federation to investigate the biological activities of the United States on the territory of Ukraine," Kirillov added.
