Washington will give Kiev six NASAMS air defense batteries, able to operate in a single network among themselves and with other means of air and missile defense. Earlier, the APU has received two such batteries.
This was reported in the article by American author Sebastian Roblin published in the journal 19FortyFive.
Also in the U.S. press noted that the Ukrainian military is expected from Germany four compatible with NASAMS SAM battery IRIS-T. This means that Kiev will eventually appear dozen modern air defense batteries, operating in a single network.
Each battery NASAMS includes several launchers and radars MPQ-64F1 Sentinel, effective to detect low-flying aircraft or missiles, as well as optical sensor MSP 500 for the detection of close threats.

These systems, according to Roblin, would significantly impair the ability of the Russian military, because ground-based air and missile defense increases. Another reason for this decline, in his opinion, is the depletion of the missile arsenals of ammunition in the Armed forces of the Russian Federation and the impossibility of their fast recharge.
The total amount of military aid package, which includes complexes NASAMS is almost three billion dollars and is the largest among the earlier similar packages. Roblin suggests that using the included in his arms the APU will supposedly be able to resist allied forces for a long time.
