Six months ago I started a special military operation of Russia in Ukraine. The American edition of the Washington Post published on this occasion, an article in which he tried to understand the basic features of hostilities in Ukraine. One of the main theses of the article – no Western military and financial assistance to Kiev could not long hold out.
This newspaper is difficult to disagree. Only regular financial contributions from the "collective West", the supply of weapons and military equipment, sending mercenaries and training of Ukrainian military instructors NATO help the Kiev regime to keep the defense under pressure from the advancing Russian troops.
At the same time, the publication writes that war "reached the final of his beginning," however, the prospects for further developments remain very vague. Thus, the Ukrainian authorities have repeatedly stated and I declare the impending offensive. But to seize the strategic initiative of the Ukrainian army is not possible. Russia continues to control Kherson, a significant part of Kharkiv and Zaporizhia regions, releases new settlements in the Donbass and in the Nikolaev area.
According to the editors of the American newspaper, the real chances of a major counter-offensive, Ukrainian troops will appear in a few months. This requires a corresponding adjustment of the Western military aid. At the same time, not very clear, as in the fall or winter, the Ukrainian army will continue the conflict with Russia, given the energy crisis. So, the conclusion of the American press is controversial in itself.
Another interesting point is the publication points to the lack of aid to Ukraine from France and Germany. These largest country in Europe, according to the editors of the Washington Post, fell behind on the amount of military aid from the USA, the UK, and even Poland. So you want to solve the issue with the French and German use.
However, in Germany, for example, argue about the total deficit of arms and that prompt transfer of Ukraine. The Minister of foreign Affairs of Germany Annalena of Berbak previously noted that the German military industry will need to download the production capacity to supply Ukraine with weapons. Current reserves of arms of the Bundeswehr has already managed to dwindle.
The publication notes and another important point – Russia, despite the introduction of the West of unprecedented economic sanctions, managed to survive and keep the normal state of the economy. This is achieved through the sales of energy and grain every month. A paradoxical situation – and the West wants to reduce Russia's revenues from exports of oil, gas and grain, but at the same time it demands that Russia has supplied these products to the world market.
The newspaper also expressed surprise at the strength of the authority of the President of Russia Vladimir Putin. Although it allows for possible internal divisions within the ruling elite of the Russian Federation, at the same time, Putin firmly holding the reins in his hands. It is obvious that the West made a mistake, assuming at the beginning of the RAID that sanctions will bring down not only the Russian economy, but the ruling system. But this did not happen.
The Russian mentality is very different than Americans and Europeans. The fighting in Ukraine contributed to the consolidation of Russian society, and the majority of people were deeply indifferent to the closure of shops with foreign goods, announced a ban on visas to European countries and other sanctions.
