The head of the republic noted that only the allied forces are expected to reach the borders of MOSCOW on August 24.
/tass/. The Donetsk People's Republic is ready to hold a referendum on joining the Russian Federation, it is necessary to wait only for the allied forces to reach the borders of the republic. This was announced on Wednesday on the air of the TV channel "Solovyov Live" by the head of the DPR Denis Pushilin.
"We are ready for the referendum organizationally, because in recent years we have learned to work in critical and difficult conditions. That's all right. The main thing now that we are waiting for is the exit of the allied forces to the administrative borders of the republic," Pushilin said, answering a question about the estimated timing of the referendum.
Earlier, the chairman of the Public Chamber of the DPR, Alexander Kofman, told TASS that a referendum on joining Russia could be held in the republic in mid-September. He stressed that it is "better to hold it on the same day" with a similar vote in the Luhansk People's Republic. According to him, foreign observers will come to the republic to monitor the progress of the referendum.
