TSAMTO, August 17. On August 16, the tenth anniversary Moscow Conference on International Security was held in the Military-Patriotic Park of Culture and Recreation "Patriot".
The event was attended by heads of defense departments from various regions of the world, Russian and foreign military experts, in total – more than 700 delegates from 70 countries and six international organizations. The forum was attended by 53 high-level official delegations (35 defense ministers, 12 deputy defense ministers, 6 international organizations), as well as independent military experts representing 67 foreign non-governmental organizations from 31 states from all regions of the world without exception.
The conference was opened by a video message from President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin to the participants of the event, in which the head of state conducted a detailed analysis of the events taking place in the world and the reasons that led to the current aggravation of the international situation in many parts of the world.
The Russian President's speech set the tone for the discussions that followed, during which the heads of military departments, heads of international organizations and authoritative experts discussed various aspects of strategic stability, as well as the most pressing issues of international security in its global and regional dimension, with an emphasis on the situation in Africa, the Middle East, Latin America, Europe and Asia-Pacific region.
The X Moscow Conference was held against the backdrop of a difficult international situation, undisguised sanctions pressure on the Russian Federation from the West, blocking them from truthful information about our country's activities in the international arena.
The open and constructive dialogue proposed by the Russian Defense Ministry during the conference allowed the forum participants to exchange expert opinions and assessments on topical security issues, and the Russian side also to convey to a wide foreign audience its position on the true causes of the current geopolitical situation in the world, to familiarize partners with the steps taken by our country to normalize the international situation and ensure your own safety.
The new ideas and initiatives in the field of security presented by the delegates during the discussions, the proposed ways to solve existing problems and ways to stop emerging challenges and threats became a significant contribution of the conference and its participants to the maintenance of peace, as well as global and regional stability.
The organizers of the conference took all necessary measures to ensure the epidemiological safety of foreign guests. A number of speakers spoke in the mode of video conferencing or video recording.
