TSAMTO, August 15. During the official opening of the International Military-Technical Forum "Army-2022", a plenary session of the forum was held on August 15.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation – Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov, First Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation Ruslan Tsalikov, heads of state corporations and companies – Sergey Chemezov (Rostec), Yuri Borisov (Roscosmos), Alexey Likhachev (Rosatom) and Alexander Mikheev (Rosoboronexport).
The meeting was opened by Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation – Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov.
In his address to the participants of the meeting, he noted that this year, traditionally, developers and manufacturers will present modern weapons and equipment that have successfully proven themselves in combat conditions, as well as samples of the next generation. In particular, this year the forum presents a whole line of promising robotic complexes based on artificial intelligence, as well as unmanned aerial vehicles and means of combating them.
According to D.Manturov, this year within the framework of the business program, issues of diversification of production of defense industry enterprises will be touched upon: successful examples of this work can be seen in pavilions and open areas: for example, an autonomous LNG-powered energy complex and new concepts of civil vessels and promising marine complexes based on a single, unified platform.
In addition, among the main areas of work of defense enterprises, D. Manturov highlighted active work on the vector of technological independence: "import substitution projects in the fields of special engineering, aviation, shipbuilding, road transport and a number of other areas are aimed at this. The key task is to increase the level of development and rhythmically increase the pace of production."
On behalf of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, First Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation Ruslan Tsalikov welcomed the participants of the International Military-Technical Forum "Army-2022".
"We have had a very interesting and eventful few years together. In 2015, we met for the first time as part of this large–scale event and then representatives of about 800 enterprises from around the world took part in it," he reminded the participants of the plenary session.
"The path that we have passed can be characterized by numbers. Today 72 countries of the world are participating in a grandiose large-scale event, which is the International Forum "Army–2022", - said the first Deputy Minister of Defense.
"Today, twice as many enterprises as there were in 2015 – about 1.5 thousand – demonstrate their achievements and their new capabilities. Given the conditions that have developed in the world today, this indicates that we correctly understand where we need to move. We need to move towards improving mutual understanding and improving interaction," R. Tsalikov stressed.
"We are waiting for new discoveries, new inventions, new equipment, new equipment from the forum, because for the modern Armed Forces of Russia all this is extremely important and in great demand! And we hope that our joint cooperation will enrich our guests, participants, manufacturers, and buyers," R. Tsalikov said.
At the end of his speech, the First Deputy Minister of Defense wished the participants interesting and fruitful work and expressed confidence that the figures that will characterize the current forum – the number of contracts concluded, the number of equipment purchased – will be not lower, but higher than the previous ones, the Department of Information and Mass Communications of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reports.
